Job Title: Excavator/Concrete Carpenter
Job Description: This hybrid role requires expertise in operating excavation equipment and performing concrete work, including forming, pouring, and finishing. The ideal candidate is a hands-on team player with a strong safety mindset and a solid understanding of site work and structural concrete.
Key Excavation Duties:
- Operate excavators, skid steers, backhoes, and other heavy equipment safely
- Perform trenching, grading, and site prep according to blueprints or verbal directions
- Inspect and maintain equipment daily
- Dig around utilities with precision and care
- Load and unload materials and debris
- Follow all OSHA and company safety guidelines
Key Concrete Duties:
- Set forms, rebar, and reinforcement for slabs, footers, and walls
- Clean and maintain tools, forms, and equipment
- Mix, pour, and finish concrete to grade and specification
- Use floats, trowels, screeds, and other finishing tools
- Apply curing and sealing agents as needed
- Assist with demolition, patching, and repair work
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- 2+ years of experience in excavation and/or concrete
- Proficiency operating heavy machinery (especially excavators)
- Familiarity with concrete framework and finishing techniques
- Ability to read site plans and work independently
- Strong physical condition and ability to lift 50+ lbs
- Strong attention to detail and job site safety
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- CDL or equipment certifications preferred
Education and Experience Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience
Hours and Working Conditions:
- Day shift hours with occasional overtime as needed based on projects.
- Work environments vary from indoor to outdoor
Compensation:
- Starting pay rates will range from $25-$32 per hour depending on experience.
