DIRECT HIRE MANUFACTURING COST ESTIMATOR OPPORTUNITY!
Primary Role: The cost estimator is responsible for evaluating product and project requirements, determining costs, and creating accurate estimates for products or projects within existing manufacturing processes or partnerships with key suppliers. This role regularly collaborates with various teams including production, engineering, procurement, and management to ensure cost-effective proposals leading to efficient project execution
Key Responsibilities
- Review project & product specifications, blueprints, and technical documents to understand requirements and scope
- Utilize specialized software and tools to calculate setup and run costs for materials, labor, equipment, and overheads required for manufacturing processes: laser, press brake, machining, turning, stamping, welding, coating, and assembly
- Analyze historical data, market trends, and supplier information to determine accurate cost projections.
- Work closely with engineering, production, and procurement teams to gather essential data for accurate estimations
- Prepare detailed and comprehensive cost estimates, proposals, and reports for management review and client presentations
- Liaise with suppliers to obtain quotes, negotiate pricing, and ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business or finance preferred
- 3+ years in manufacturing & project estimation
- Proficiency in estimation software, spreadsheets, and ERP systems
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and the ability to interpret technical documents
- Negotiation skills for interactions with customers and suppliers
