Direct hire Controller opportunity!
Position Overview:
The Controller will be responsible for overseeing all financial and accounting activities of the company. This role requires a hands-on leader who can manage the day-to-day accounting functions while also providing strategic financial guidance to support operational goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all accounting operations, including A/R, A/P, payroll, general ledger, job costing, and financial reporting
- Develop and maintain internal controls to ensure accurate and timely financial reporting
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Monitor cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting
- Work closely with project managers to track job costs and profitability
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations
- Coordinate with external auditors, tax professionals, and banks as needed
- Provide financial insight and support to leadership for strategic decision-making
- Implement and maintain accounting systems and process improvements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred but not required)
- 5+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, preferably in construction, industrial services, or manufacturing
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, job costing, and financial reporting
- Proficiency with accounting software
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Experience in a hands-on environment with the ability to manage multiple priorities
