Temp to Hire Housing Specialist opportunity!
General Summary: This position is responsible for the processing of initial and continued eligibility examinations for applicants, residents and participants in the agency’s housing programs
Responsibilities:
- Conducts initial and ongoing client eligibility in accordance with required timelines, policies and procedures.
- Creates application packets.
- Establishes appointment dates in accordance with prescribed timelines.
- Uploads documents into client portals.
- Receives and evaluates client documents and declarations for sufficiency.
- Compares and contrasts reporting to prior records to assess for inconsistencies.
- Conducts telephone, video conferencing and/or in-person interviews in accordance with prescribed procedure for methodology.
- Verifies (as applicable) supporting documentation related to date of birth, social security number, citizenship status, residency, income, assets and deductions.
- Performs data input into agency software.
- Works effectively with applicants, residents and participants to ensure understanding of rules, obligations, processes, results and next steps. Escalates disputes or inaccuracies in a timely manner
Qualifications:
- A minimum of high school diploma or equivalent required, with one year of experience in a related field preferred.
- Bilingual
- Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) or related software.
- Ability to learn new software.
- Knowledge of and/or demonstrated ability to learn, apply, interpret, and explain organizational policies, procedures, laws and regulations.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with agency clients, other agencies, and the public.
