Job Description:
The Certified Public Accountant is responsible for preparing, reviewing and analyzing financial reports, individual tax returns, and business tax returns. This position will play a vital role in our company ensuring compliance with the law and accuracy in accounting
Responsibilities:
- Meet with clients and analyze client financial records.
- Identify potential tax deductions and savings clients have not considered.
- Advising clients about tax laws and how to meet requirements
- Preparing and reviewing bookkeeping, sales tax returns, payroll and tax returns.
- Keep track of industry trends and changes related to taxes.
- Assess and research difficult tax issues to identify solutions.
- Offer support and guidance during audits.
- Other duties that may be assigned by the supervisor.
- Ability to work overtime during tax season.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and a CPA qualification
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience as a tax accountant or similar role preferred. A minimum of 2+ years’ experience required.
- Ability to project confidence and build rapport with clients
- In-depth understanding of current tax laws.
- Problem-solving and analytical thinking skills to help clients legally minimize tax burdens.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task and stay organized.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Good understanding of Microsoft Office and accounting software, especially QuickBooks.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and professionalism.
- Valid driver’s license.
